Hi! Welcome to this universe I shape with paint and words. My name is Sarah or Saar, as my friends like to call me. I have a background in law and journalism, but in short, I have an insatiable enthusiasm for capturing the world in words and paint. I never lost my childlike wonder, which combines my inner world and outside surroundings with a pinch of humor.

I live in this cutesy medieval city of Ghent, right in small but courageous Belgium.

My work is inspired by the little things that catch my eye in daily life, as well as the bigger social and political themes that I like to peel back and explore from my own perspective. Whether I’m painting or writing, I’m always chasing stories—big or small—that spark curiosity.
